Born in Barcelona, Abad works in a figurative register built on erasure. Faces and bodies are painted and then partly effaced, dissolved into the ground or interrupted by geometric intervention, so that the portrait is always in the process of disappearing.
The concern is memory and the instability of identity. He works in oil and mixed media, generally on a large scale, and lives in Barcelona.
