About

Twenty years of
looking closely.

Heritage Gallery is a private dealership, not a shopfront. We buy, sell and advise on modern and post-war art, Picasso ceramics and classical antiquities — always directly, always documented.

THE HOUSE

What Heritage Gallery
is

Heritage Gallery was founded on a simple conviction: the best works rarely reach a public room. They move between people who know each other, quietly, on the strength of a reputation that took years to build.

We operate as a private dealership. There is no permanent exhibition space to fill and no rotating programme to feed — which means we are free to buy only what we genuinely believe in, and to hold it until the right collection appears. Our clients are private collectors, family offices, foundations and museums across Spain, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Our field is the twentieth century: Picasso, Miró, Tàpies, Chagall, Poliakoff, Buffet, Barceló and their contemporaries, alongside a dedicated line in Madoura ceramics and licensed classical antiquities. Every acquisition is examined in person, checked against the catalogue raisonné, condition-reported and, where the artist’s estate demands it, formally authenticated before it is offered.

What we sell is not only the object. It is the certainty that comes with it — a complete file, a clean provenance and a name that answers the phone years after the invoice.

The founder

Alejandro Boni

«I have never bought a painting I would not be happy to keep. That is the only rule I have needed.»

Alejandro Boni has spent more than two decades in the European secondary market, first alongside established Barcelona dealers and, since 2011, under his own name. He is a specialist in Spanish and School of Paris post-war painting, and one of the small group of dealers in Spain who handle Madoura ceramics with full edition documentation.

His work is built on direct relationships: with the families and estates who hold the works, with the restorers and technical laboratories who examine them, and with the collectors who eventually take them home. He advises on acquisition, on the construction and refinement of private collections, on valuations for insurance and inheritance, and on the discreet sale of individual pieces.

He divides his time between Barcelona, Madrid and Paris, and attends the principal European fairs and sales each season on behalf of his clients.

HOW WE WORK

Three principles we do not bend

I

Only what we believe in

We buy with our own money before we ever offer a work. If we would not hang it ourselves, it does not enter the inventory — which is why our list is short and stays short.

II

The full file, upfront

Provenance, certificates, condition report and literature references are handed over before payment, not after. No surprises, no missing pages, no vague attributions.

III

Confidentiality by default

We do not publish what we sell, to whom, or for how much. Collections stay private, and so do the conversations that build them.
