Born in Girona, Solà paints interiors and figures in a light that seems to arrive from a single, uncertain source. Rooms are sparsely furnished, figures turned away or caught mid-gesture, and the narrative is withheld.
The handling is precise without being tight, and the debt is to Hopper and to Northern European painting. He lives and works in Catalonia.
