Born in Calella, Alcaraz makes work that sits between painting, sculpture and the object. Sheets of methacrylate, mirror and glass are placed over surfaces that have been cut, burned or perforated, so that what the viewer sees is always at one remove.
The recurring subject is the book, the poem and the failure of the page to hold what is written on it. The results are quiet, physically damaged, and concerned with absence. He lives and works in Catalonia.
