Born in Barcelona, Madaula works in painting and drawing with a deliberately restrained palette, close to grisaille. His images derive from photographic sources — archives, film stills, found pictures — reworked until the origin is no longer traceable.
The result holds an ambiguous space between document and invention. He lives and works in Catalonia.
